CLEVELAND, Ohio (Nov. 12, 2014) – Applied Industrial Technologies continues its growth and expansion of the Applied Maintenance Supplies & Solutions (Applied MSS) business into the company’s Fontana, California, distribution center. This facility will maintain an inventory of tens of thousands of products and ship directly to customers in an 11-state region of the Western U.S. The distribution center complements two other Applied MSS regional distribution facilities in Cleveland, Ohio, and Atlanta, Georgia.

The Applied MSS product line includes more than 40,000 C-Class maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) supplies. Products include fasteners, cutting tools, paints and chemicals, fluid flow, safety, janitorial and much more, with immediate stock availability throughout the Applied MSS distribution network along with access to an additional 250,000 stock keeping units.

“Our Maintenance Supplies & Solutions business is expanding rapidly, with increased people, products and services,” says Rob Onorato, VP, general manager – Maintenance Supplies & Solutions. “This modern facility has expandable racking capabilities to meet the growing demand for fast, local delivery of C-Class MRO consumables.”

Applied MSS specialists are available to lay out a customer’s maintenance shop in a lean, organized format, with product assortment kits and cabinetry that save valuable time and money when looking for parts.

Applied is installing demo vending machines in more than a dozen of its service centers in this region—including its Fontana service center—to support growing interest in its Applied MSS vending solutions. The company also has additional operations in the Fontana facility, including the Applied distribution center, an Applied rubber shop and an Applied fluid power subsidiary. Applied MSS plans to hire several new associates to support this location and its growth in the C-Class maintenance supplies business.

Applied Industrial Technologies is an industrial distributor that offers more than 5 million parts to serve the needs of MRO and OEM customers in a variety of industries.
