NORDBORG, Denmark (April 7, 2016) - On April 4, Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science Ulla Tørnæs inaugurated a new cross-Atlantic partnership, the Water Technology Alliance (WTA) California, in San Francisco, California. The aim of the cross-Atlantic partnership is to share knowledge and to develop water technology solutions targeting the current water crisis caused by climate change.

(Dec. 29, 2015) – Danfoss has appointed Miha Kavcic as head of sales and business development in North America. In this role, Kavcic will be responsible for advancing the company’s business within the heating market—including energy-saving hydronic balancing and control, electric heating and combined heat and power solutions.

BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 16, 2015) – John Galyen, president of Danfoss North America, has been elected to serve on the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Board of Governors. The new Board of Governors, including its chairwoman and officers and NEMA’s Executive Committee for 2016, was announced Nov. 10.

Galyen will serve a three-year term on the board, starting in 2016, alongside executives from companies such as Eaton, Siemens, Rockwell Automation and ABB.

BALTIMORE (Jan. 6, 2015) – Danfoss has named Sean Kurtz general manager and director of operations for its compressor manufacturing facility in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. In this role, Kurtz will provide leadership to the facility’s management team and daily production processes, as well as execute the company’s global business strategy at the local level.

BALTIMORE (Jan. 6, 2015) – Danfoss has appointed Joseph Rich as senior director of sales and marketing, North America.

In this role, Rich will focus on growing the company’s VLT Drives business in the North American market, providing leadership and directing strategy for both sales and marketing. He will continue to strengthen customer relationships and develop programs to build loyalty for Danfoss products and services.

WASHINGTON (Nov. 20, 2014) – On Nov. 5, 2014, Danfoss convened its 22nd EnVisioneering Symposium, “Refrigerants2Sustainability,” which focused on the complex challenges reshaping the refrigeration landscape.

National policy and global concerns for ozone depletion remapped the industry with the Montreal Protocol. Today, the problem is climate change—driven by both leaked and vented high global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants and energy-intense refrigeration systems.

BALTIMORE (Oct. 3, 2014) – John Galyen, president, Danfoss North America, addressed energy productivity at the Alliance to Save Energy’s Energy 2030 On the Road, Sept. 29 in New York City. Galyen participated in a panel titled “Modernizing Regulations and Infrastructure to Improve Energy Productivity” and addressed several key issues that will impact the Energy 2030 initiative’s goal of doubling energy productivity by 2030.

BALTIMORE (Sept. 2, 2014) – Danfoss has named Gregg Porter as regional sales manager for the Great Lakes region, which includes North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

In this role, Porter will be responsible for Danfoss’ portfolio of hydronic balancing and control valves, including Danfoss AB-QM pressure independent control valves.
