WINTERTHUR, Switzerland -- Sulzer last week announced plans to acquire a New Zealand pharmaceutical delivery company to round out its Applicator Systems division.
Sulzer has signed a binding agreement to acquire Simcro, a 230-employee company that manufactures animal pharmaceutical delivery devices such as injectors and applicators for livestock and companion animals. A Sulzer release values the acquisition at NZD 132 million.

DALLAS -- Flowserve has elected Roger Fix as its new chairman following the retirement of previous Board of Directors Chair Bill Rusnack.
Fix has served as a Flowserve director since 2006, according to a report on worldpumps.com. He was originally elected to the Board of Directors in 2006.
Previously, Fix was president and chief executive officer of Standex International Corporation.
STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Atlas Copco this week opened a new manufacturing facility in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
The 330-employee facility will manufacture portable compressors and generators for the construction market, in addition to medical gas product for hospitals. The company invested some $25 million in the facility, according to an Atlas Copco release.
