RYE BROOK, N.Y.-- Xylem Inc. (NYSE:XYL), a global water technology company, announced it has appointed Sandra Rowland as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), effective October 1, 2020, reporting to Xylem president and chief executive officer Patrick Decker. Rowland will succeed Mark Rajkowski, who will retire from the company at the end of the year, allowing for an orderly and smooth transition.

HELSINKI, Finland (May 1, 2014) – MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has signed contracts for four subsea cranes with subsidiaries of a Malaysian shipbuilding, ship repair and chartering group, Coastal Contracts Bhd. MacGregor 100-ton SWL active heave-compensated (AHC) subsea cranes will be installed on four subsea support vessels (SSV) under construction at the shipyard. Delivery of the cranes is scheduled from June to December 2015.

ERLANGEN, Germany (April 29, 2014) – Siemens has installed the BorWin2 offshore platform in the North Sea northwest of the island of Borkum. This marks Siemens' achievement of the second crucial milestone in the German grid connection projects under contract with the German-Dutch network operator TenneT. Siemens had already erected its first converter platform for the HelWin1 connection off Heligoland in the North Sea in August 2013.

CHELMSFORD, Mass. (April 29, 2014) – Brooks Automation, Inc. announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Dynamic Micro Systems Semiconductor Equipment GmbH (DMS). DMS, based in Radolfzell, Germany, provides automated cleaner and stocker products for wafer and reticle carrier devices used in the global semiconductor front-end markets. The cash purchase price is approximately $31 million, subject to an adjustment for working capital at closing.

ERLANGEN, Germany (April 25, 2014) – China’s Shenhua Ningmei Coal Group has placed a follow-up order with Siemens Energy for four identical CO2 compressor trains for a coal liquefaction plant. The end customer is Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group Co. Ltd. (SNCG), a subsidiary of the Shenhua Group, the largest coal producer in China. The compressor trains are destined for a coal liquefaction plant in Ningxia Province, which lies in the northwestern part of the People’s Republic of China.
