CHICAGO - WEF, NACWA, and WRF have partnered with Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) to host a United States delegation of high-level utility managers. The organizations have also collaborated to create a scholarship fund to assist US utility leaders in funding international participation.

This scholarship program is seeking to attract utility leaders who are interested in or have working knowledge in the following areas:

WILMINGTON, Mass. - Koch Membrane Systems is changing its name to Koch Separation Solutions as the company expands its capabilities and acquires new separation technologies.

Koch Membrane Systems has just acquired Canadian ion exchange systems manufacturer Eco-Tec Inc. Eco-Tec’s ion exchange-based solutions will allow Koch Membrane Systems to provide full-scale separation solutions. As a result, Koch Membrane Systems will now operate under the name Koch Separation Solutions (KSS).

ST. LOUIS – To accommodate global customer demand for its industrial electric motors, Nidec Motor Corporation (NMC) recently expanded its Monterrey, Mexico manufacturing facility. The $2.3 million investment expanded the facility by 60,000 square feet, increased its production capacity and improved operations.

The facility is part of NMC’s Commercial Industrial Motors & Drives (CIMD) business.

ST. LOUIS – The Power Transmission Distributor Association (PTDA) Foundation has presented Sandy Sullivan, Nidec Motor Corporation national account director, with its Wendy B. McDonald Award.

The award is given to a woman who has established herself as a critical contributor to her company’s success and has affected positive change within the power transmission/motion control industry.

Bjerringbro, Denmark — Siemens and Grundfos have signed a digital partnership framework for strategic cooperation between the two companies. The new partnership focuses on the complementary products and solutions provided by both parties in three main areas: water and wastewater applications, industrial automation and building technology.

Ellesmere Port, U.K. — Cook Compression has opened a satellite service facility in Sicily, Italy. The service facility supports the rapid reconditioning of compressor valves for ISAB S.r.l, a part of Lukoil Oil Company, and other refineries in the region. ISAB has awarded Cook Compression a multiyear contract to provide technical support, reconditioning and upgrades for reciprocating compressor valves.
