WINTERTHUR, Switzerland (April 11, 2013) – Sulzer Pumps has opened its third service center in China, located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province in Southwestern China. With this new facility, Sulzer Pumps further strengthens its service network within this important market.

The installed base of Sulzer Pumps within the oil and gas, hydrocarbon processing and power industries has been growing at a rapid pace in Southwestern China over the past years. The new service center will cater to the service needs of the installed base within the region, providing technical service support, repairs and overhauling of pumps.

In addition, Sulzer Pumps have recently signed a long term service and maintenance agreement with PetroChina for the Sichuan Petrochemical project, where approximately 700 pumps are installed. The new service center is located close to our customer allowing pumps to be transported quickly to the service center, minimizing logistics time and costs.

The fully equipped service facility has an extensive range of machine tools, inspection and assembly areas to facilitate overhaul and repair activities for both Sulzer Pumps range as well as Other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM). In addition to other two service centers in Shanghai and Guangzhou, Sulzer Pumps is well positioned to better serve its customers in China.
