(November 3, 2015) – SFA Soft has launched two smartphone apps, titled Electric Calcs and Pump Calcs. Both of these apps, which are now available for both Apple (App Store) and Android (Google Play) devices, can be downloaded for free. The free versions allow access to the basic “Lite” technical calculators. There is, however, a one-time cost of 99 cents for Electric Calcs and $1.99 for Pump Calcs to remove ads and enable the use of the more advanced “Pro” technical calculators.

The Electric Calcs app is a bundle of 30-plus versatile calculators developed expressly for professionals designing and installing electrical systems. The list below shows a sampling of some of the Electric Calcs app calculators:

• Determining the voltage drop in copper and aluminum wiring circuits
• Calculating real (true) power in three-phase transformers
• Analyzing transformer ratio data (current and turns, volts and current, and volts and turns)

The Pump Calcs app is a bundle of 30-plus useful calculators developed specifically for pumping machinery professionals. The list below shows a sampling of some of the Pump Calcs calculators contained in the app:

• Determining the required brake horsepower for a given centrifugal pump application
• Determining efficiency of a motor driven centrifugal pump
• Determining the average fluid velocity in a pipe when the flow rate is known

SFA Soft has been developing and managing database-driven technical websites since 2004. They may be reached at info@sfasoft.com.

Coming soon from SFA Soft:
Electriccalcs.com – A website for the electrical calculations
Pumpcalcs.com – A website for the pump calculations
Both of these websites, which are extensions of our new smart phone apps, will be mobile friendly. Users will also have access to a set of expert calculators once they are logged onto the websites.
Sfasoft.com will be the parent website with links to all their other applications. SFA Soft plans to launch these websites by the end of the year.
