LANAYE, Belgium (Dec. 10, 2015) – Xylem has designed a water pumping solution as part of a complex project to expand the Lanaye Locks in Belgium, a vital connector route between Northern and Southern Europe. Xylem’s Flygt pumps and turbines will regulate water levels in the canal network and harness energy from excess water in the Albert Canal. The addition of a fourth Lanaye lock [225 metres (m) x 25m] will quadruple the lock system’s convoy capacity from 2,000 to 9,000 tons.

ATLANTA (Dec. 9, 2015) – Siemens has announced that it will supply the University of Notre Dame with the main motor and variable frequency drive for its new Turbomachinery Facility. The facility will be a research and test facility for advancing the technology used in gas turbine engines used by the commercial and military aircraft, power plant and the oil and gas industries.

Rock Falls, Ill. (Dec. 7, 2015) – The IFH Group Inc. (IFH) has acquired Bowman Manufacturing Company Inc. to create The IFH Group West, LLC.

“Bowman’s capabilities for fabricating custom electrical enclosures and precision sheet metal parts from concept to prototype to production fits in very well with our existing capabilities and product lines and expands our offerings to customers,” said Jim King, CEO of The IFH Group.

ROSEMONT, Ill. (Dec. 4, 2015) – Heather Green has been promoted to director of product marketing for Appleton Group, a division of Emerson. In this role, Green will work with product management, the engineering team and global sales for the division's brands Appleton, O-Z/Gedney and others to achieve success across multiple industries. She will report directly to Tim Graff, vice president of engineering for Appleton Group, within the engineering organization.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Dec. 2, 2015) – Xylem, a global water technology company, has announced that its Wedeco Duron ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system has received conditional acceptance from the California Water Boards’ Division of Drinking Water (DDW). The California Water Board’s DDW regulates public water systems, oversees water recycling projects, permits water treatment devices and supports and promotes water system security.

VANCOUVER, Wash. (Dec. 1, 2015) – KLINGER Holding GmbH in Austria has announced the formation of KLINGER IGI Inc. as an addition to the group’s industrial gasketing presence in the United States. Headquartered in Wilsonville, Oregon with an additional location in Denver, Colorado, the seals and gasketing manufacturer is a result of KLINGER’s acquisition of IGI.
