NEW ORLEANS (Sept. 29, 2014) – GE has announced the appointment of Ralph Exton to serve as 2014-2015 treasurer on the board of trustees for the Water Environment Federation (WEF), an international organization of water quality professionals headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia. He was first elected to WEF’s board of trustees in 2012.

TOKYO (Sept. 25, 2014) – Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (TMEIC) has formed a new manufacturing subsidiary in North America, TMEIC Power Electronics Products Corporation, to manufacture photovoltaic (PV) inverters and medium-voltage (MV) variable frequency drives in North America. Fabrication of PV inverters will commence in fall 2014, followed by MV drives in spring 2015 at the Houston, Texas-based facility.

HOUSTON (Sept. 24, 2014) – ExxonMobil Chemical is increasing production of its high-performance hydrocarbon fluids by approximately 10 percent through expansion projects at its Singapore and Antwerp facilities. The additional capacity, designed to meet rapidly expanding global demand for hydrocarbon fluids and extend the company’s worldwide supply capability, will begin producing by mid-2015 and be complete in 2016.

NEW YORK/ZURICH (Sept. 23, 2014) – ABB announced at the UN Climate Summit in New York Sept. 23 that it is joining the United Nations Environment Programme’s global action on improving appliance and equipment efficiency. The company will provide expertise on energy-efficient motors and transformers to help governments devise policies that accelerate energy savings.
