state of the industry
Everton shares thoughts on water and wastewater efficiency and more.

Pioneer Pump (a Franklin Electric brand) President Steve Everton answered several questions for Pumps & Systems as it pertains to the state of the industry heading into 2022.

How have any price increases of products or materials impacted you or your company?

Cost in increases from raw materials, tariffs and logistics adversely impacted our customers by extending existing deliveries and our ability to quote lead times.

What needs to happen in regards to industry improvements?

Generally speaking we need to find ways to move water and wastewater more efficiently. That would include broader use of monitoring and adjusting to operating conditions, greater use of electric motors and eventually leverage of solar technology as it matures relative to our applications.

What issues have you seen with any material shortages or supply chain issues?

We have seen material shortages and logistical challenges through our entire supply chain on a daily basis. We expect those challenges to continue well in to 2022 but eventually forces of supply and demand will prevail sometime in late 2022.

What industry trends are you seeing as we go into 2022?

Approaching 2022 we are seeing increased demand, more electrification and increased investment in monitoring technology.

What’s on your mind?

Getting the right talent in the right position to succeed and thrive throughout the organization.

What keeps you up at night?

Creating a culture where passion, purpose and persistence around a common set of objectives sets the tone every day. Getting this right attracts talent that makes navigating a global pandemic and the related supply chain environment look more like an opportunity than an obstacle.
