HELSINKI (Feb. 11, 2013) – Metso has opened a new Automation service center in Ratchaburi, Thailand. The service center supports Metso’s strategy to grow its Automation business globally and strengthens Metso’s service capabilities in Thailand. Metso has large installed base for process automation products and valves especially in Thai pulp and paper industry, with customers like Siam Cement Group (SCG) which has a pulp mill and several paper mills in the area.

HELSINKI (Jan. 22, 2013) – Metso will supply a biomass-fired heating plant for district heat production to Savon Voima Oyj in Leppävirta in Finland. Following the investment, the municipality of Leppävirta will have access to more district heat generated using renewable fuels, in accordance with Savon Voima's bioenergy program. The new heating plant will significantly reduce the consumption of oil. The plant will go on stream in late 2013.

HELSINKI (Jan. 10, 2013) – During recent months, Metso has received various orders for automated process valves from several customers in the Asia-Pacific region. The automated valves of Metso have been selected for several mid-size projects where customers are rebuilding their processes in order to improve and maximize process performance, efficiency and safety.

Metso has recently received three orders for Metso DNA automation systems for greenfield waste-to-energy plants from the CNIM Group. The latest order is for the North Hykeham plant in Lincolnshire, U.K. It was preceded earlier this year by similar orders for waste-to-energy plants in Turin, Italy, and Maardu, Estonia. CNIM, the European leader in construction of waste-to-energy plants, acts as a contractor in all these projects.


HELSINKI, Finland (June 13, 2012) – Metso has signed several contracts for supplying automation technology for greenfield waste-to-energy plants in Italy, Estonia and the U.K. Modern automation solutions will play a major role in managing these new plants successfully. Plant operators will able to maximize incineration capacity, keep combustion and steam production stable, as well as maintain high process availability.
