Blaze & Honeywell Win 2016 EIC Supply Chain Excellence Awards

LONDON (Oct. 18, 2016) – Blaze Manufacturing Solutions Ltd and Honeywell Process Solutions were announced as the winners of the 2016 EIC Supply Chain Excellence Awards at the EIC’s National Dinner, held at the Natural History Museum in London, Oct. 13. The EIC Supply Chain Excellence Awards recognize EIC member companies that have created particularly innovative products or delivered exceptional customer service.

Blaze received the EIC Supply Chain Break Through Award, which is restricted to EIC member companies with fewer than 100 employees and less than £100m in annual turnover, for its Flameshield 300^TM fire protection deluge pipework system solution. Flameshield 300TM is a complete bespoke replacement deluge system from survey through design, engineering, installation, testing and commissioning. The system comprises flexible deluge piping, corrosion-resistant fittings, block-free nozzles and Mekano bespoke system pipework supports. The awards’ independent judging panel, consisting of senior representatives from Chevron, Centrica, EDF Energy and Sasol, were particularly impressed by the innovation and cost efficiency of Blaze’s safety solution, which can be installed without the need for expensive shutdowns or hot working offshore. The EIC Supply Chain Excellence Award, competed for by companies with more than 100 employees and an annual turnover in excess of £100m, was scooped by Honeywell Process Solutions, which submitted its LEAP^TM project implementation solution for consideration. A combination of three innovative technologies: virtualization, universal channel technology and cloud engineering, LEAP^TM revolutionizes how automation projects are implemented by removing the traditional dependencies that used to force project flows to be sequential in nature. The panel felt LEAP^TM offered a compelling case to win the award as it simultaneously maximizes the process automation system design time and reduces project schedule, while its cloud engineering environment allows extensive testing to be completed without the system hardware present. "The LEAP project methodology is the greatest step forward in process automation this century and is transforming the way our systems are delivered; in the near future, all process automation projects will be delivered this way.
