SHANGHAI - Grundfos Group will appoint Catherine Yang as new regional managing director of its China sales region, effective March 1. In this function, Yang will be based at the regional headquarters in Shanghai reporting to executive vice president Poul Due Jensen. She follows Mr. Humphrey Lau, who is now regional managing director of Grundfos’ Western Europe sales region.
Yang joins Grundfos from a previous position as managing director of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration Asia, at United Technologies Corporation (UTC), in Shanghai where she has led the commercial refrigeration business in Asia with operations in several countries and regions. Yang has more than 22 years of working experience, including 13 years in China, 8 in the U.S., and 1 in the U.K.
Yang holds a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in information networking from Carnegie Mellon University. She also holds an MBA degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Catherine is bilingual in Chinese and English. She is a U.S. citizen, born and raised in China.
