WILLISTON, Vt. - Flex-A-Seal, an international manufacturer of mechanical seals headquartered in Vermont, has consolidated and moved its two Essex Junction facilities to one location in Williston.

The 66,000 square foot building at 291 Hurricane Lane is now the central location for 140 Vermont employees and houses all aspects of operation.

Flex-A-Seal manufactures mechanical seals for industrial pumps and rotating equipment, distributing domestically and to over 50 countries worldwide. The previous Essex Junction locations totaling 36,000 square feet were unable to accommodate physical expansion for the company’s growing production needs. The 291 Hurricane Lane property was purchased in early 2019 and Flex-A-Seal completed its move in November 2019.

In addition to the Vermont headquarters, Flex-A-Seal has a 12,000 square foot manufacturing and sales facility in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 2018, Flex-A-Seal opened a 5,000 square foot repair and service facility in Gonzales, Louisiana, to accommodate the Gulf Coast’s industrial markets.

Before the move to Hurricane Lane, Flex-A-Seal had been at its main Essex Junction location – a 100-year old former maple sugaring factory – since 1992. Moving out of Vermont is not an option for the company. Owner Henry Slauson and his son, VP of sales Alex Slauson said, “Although doing business in Vermont poses many unique challenges, it’s Flex-A-Seal's home for now and the future.”
