WASHINGTON (Jan. 30, 2017)—DC Water and the Water Environment Federation (WEF) announced the first certifications under the National Green Infrastructure Certification Program (NGICP).

The NGICP is designed to verify that the inaugural group of 62 has successfully demonstrated competency in the foundational knowledge, concepts and terminology required to perform tasks related to green infrastructure (GI) construction, inspection and maintenance, according to a statement from WEF.

YORK, Pa. (Jan. 27, 2017)—Voith is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2017 and will be marking it with events at each of its 160 locations worldwide spanning more than 60 countries.

In North America, more than 3,000 employees will participate in employee celebrations and family events taking place at 18 different locations guided by the motto, “Welcome to the next 150 years.”

LAWRENCE, Mass. (Jan. 26, 2017)—Asahi/America Inc. announced the promotion of Rodney Van to industrial business development manager for the eastern and central regions effective Jan. 1.

Van will lead Asahi/America’s sales efforts of industrial single-wall and double-wall piping systems for chemical service.

Van has been with Asahi/America for 27 years in various roles, most recently as district sales manager in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

COIMBATORE, India (Jan. 25, 2017)—Coimbatore, India-based pumps and systems manufacturer EKKI Group has completed the acquisition and integration of Deccan Pumps Private Limited, a provider of sump submersible, monoblock and surface pumps.

In 2013, Deccan Group co-founder P. Arumugam successfully completed its spin off and acquired Deccan Industries' assets and facilities through Deccan Pumps Private Limited, according to a statement issued by EKKI Group.

ATLANTA (Jan. 23, 2017)—Siemens has launched SIschool, a training program to provide students with hands-on training in the field of low-voltage electrical engineering, according to a statement from the company.

Siemens will provide local distribution and technical schools with residential electrical equipment that allows students to practice advanced wiring skills and become familiar with the technologies used in today’s electrical engineering field.
