TREVOSE, Penn. (Nov. 9, 2016) — Faced with the environmental challenge of how to dispose of sludge, Indiana steel producer NLMK turned to GE’s advanced water treatment technologies and innovative solutions to dewater sludge from the spray water system thickener. After a year of implementation, the mill eliminated 2,050 tons of waste and reused 500,000 gallons of water as make up to other cooling systems.

GOTHENBURG, Sweden (Nov. 3, 2016)—SKF is investing nearly $17 million (SEK 150 million) in modernizing its cylindrical roller bearing (CRB) manufacturing in Schweinfurt, Germany, according to a statement from the company.

This is the third significant manufacturing investment announced by SKF in the last 18 months, following the announcement of similar investments in Gothenburg, Sweden, and Flowery Branch, Ga., the company said.
