HOUSTON (Oct. 23, 2016) – Hoover Container Solutions, Ferguson Group, and CHEP Catalyst & Chemical Containers (CCC), three global providers of container solutions products in the energy, petrochemical and general industrial markets, have finalized their merger to form the independent joint venture company, Hoover Ferguson Group.

DENVER, Colo. (Oct. 20, 2016) – The Water Research Foundation (WRF), a leading sponsor of potable reuse research, has released interim results from the project “Blending Requirements for Water from Direct Potable Reuse Treatment Facilities” (#4536). The objective of this project is to provide guidance for the appropriate use of blending as part of a direct potable reuse (DPR) project.

BADEN, Penn, (Oct. 19, 2016) – Xylem has secured a contract to supply filtration technology to the new Beaver County water treatment plant in Baden, Pennsylvania. Once operational, the plant will increase the volume of drinking water produced for the West View Water Authority, treating up to 15 million gallons of water per day (mgd) from the Ohio River. The plant will help meet growing demand from communities in Beaver County, Butler County and Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Oct. 19, 2016)—A turnout of 20,113 registrants and 1,006 exhibitors using 301,900 net square feet of space puts WEFTEC 2016 within the top five largest and best-attended events in the conference’s 89-year history, according to organizers.

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. (Oct. 18, 2016)—The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) and The Water Council announced Dr. David Garman as the new Chief Technology Officer for The Water Council. Garman will lead The Water Council’s new initiative called the ICE (Innovation Commercialization Exchange) Institute while continuing his role as the associate vice chancellor for water technology, research and development for UWM.
