HERNDON, Va. (Jan. 14, 2015) – British Standards Institution (BSI) today announced the acquisition of the U.S. consultancy Environmental and Occupational Risk Management, Inc. (EORM), based in San Jose, California. The deal will see EORM become an operating subsidiary of BSI’s Professional Services business in the U.S., significantly boosting EORM’s ability to offer a wider range of environmental, health, safety (EHS) and sustainability services to clients.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Jan. 13, 2015) – World Water Works, Inc. (WWW), a designer and manufacturer of wastewater treatment solutions, has been selected to provide its Ideal MBBR-DAF technology to Hopewell Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility (HRWTF), a 27 million gallons per day (MGD) facility. This selection came through a design/build public/private partnership between the City of Hopewell and the team of HDR Engineering (HDR), PC Construction (PC), Heyward Inc.

HELSINKI (Jan. 15, 2015) – The Port Westward Unit 2 power plant, supplied by Wärtsilä for Portland General Electric (PGE), reached commercial operation near Clatskanie, Oregon, on Dec. 30, 2014. The 220-megawatt (MW) Smart Power Generation plant is designed to balance wind and solar energy, as well as provide load-following and peaking services.
