CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Jan.) 13, 2015 – Fuqing is located in the north-central part of Fujian’s sea coast, south of Fuzhou and north of Putian. Its nuclear power plant will be one of the first to deploy the Generation III Hualong One reactor design. This latest reactor type merges ACP1000 and ACPR1000 designs to form one standardized reactor which is set to be widely deployed throughout China as well as targeted at export markets, including the Bradwell Power Station in the United Kingdom.

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. (Jan. 12, 2015) – PSG, a Dover Company, has announced that Craig Paulson has been appointed vice president of Human Resources. In this position, Paulson will be responsible for aligning the Human Resources strategies with PSG business strategies as the company continues to grow organically and through acquisition. He will report directly to Karl Buscher, president of PSG.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Jan. 8, 2015) – The Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) announces the global industry’s first program for accreditation of electric motor repair service providers. The EASA Accreditation Program provides assurance to electric motor end users that repairs performed at accredited facilities conform to industry standards and maintain the reliability and efficiency of the repaired motor.

TACOMA, Wash. (Jan. 8, 2015) – On Dec. 11, 2014, Elaine Thomas, the director of metallurgy at Bradken-Energy, became the first woman to ever receive the Steel Founders Society of America’s (SFSA) Charles W. Briggs Memorial Technical & Operating Medal for her career contributions in metallurgy, awarded at the SFSA 68th Annual National Technical and Operating Conference in Chicago, Illinois.

SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland (Jan. 8, 2015) – Xylem Inc. has won a $1 million contract to supply wastewater treatment technology to two new plants in the city of Bergen in Norway. Xylem will supply Flygt N3000 submersible pumps, Flygt 4600 series mixers, a Sanitaire Silver Series II aeration system and high efficiency screw blowers as part of a project to improve the quality of wastewater treatment in the city.

WASHINGTON (Jan. 8, 2015) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Ohio State University, has released a risk assessment concluding that silica-based spent foundry sands from iron, steel and aluminum foundries, when used in certain soil-related applications, are protective of human health and the environment and yield environmental benefits.

BALTIMORE (Jan. 6, 2015) – Danfoss has appointed Joseph Rich as senior director of sales and marketing, North America.

In this role, Rich will focus on growing the company’s VLT Drives business in the North American market, providing leadership and directing strategy for both sales and marketing. He will continue to strengthen customer relationships and develop programs to build loyalty for Danfoss products and services.
