The thiochemicals platform, which originated in Kerteh, Malaysia, at the beginning of 2015, produces methyl mercaptan for use as a synthesis intermediate in animal feed and dimethyl disulfide (DMDS).

The announcement was made to Asahi/America employees Dec. 11, 2014 by former president and CEO Hidetoshi Hashimoto, who will remain with the Massachusetts-based company as chairman of the board of directors. Anderson assumed his new position Jan. 1, 2015.
