ABERDEENSHIRE, Scotland (Feb. 24, 2014) – The project, led by Shell, with strategic support from SSE, owners of the Peterhead gas power station in Aberdeenshire, aims to capture 10 million tons of CO2 over 10 years. This will generate enough clean electricity to power the equivalent of 500,000 homes per year. If successful, the project will represent the first industrial-scale application of CCS technology at a gas power station anywhere in the world.

ERLANGEN, Germany (Feb. 24, 2014) – Siemens Energy will supply two gas turbines and two generators to Hanwha Engineering & Construction Corporation from South Korea for the new power plant in Biskra, Algeria. In addition, Siemens will provide spare parts for the components through a long-term parts supply agreement.
BRUSSELS (Feb. 24, 2014) – Turbo4vio announced the start-up, within the allotted construction time frame, of a 50.000 m3/day BOT wastewater treatment plant in Kufa, Iraq.
The total project cost, including one year of operation of the plant before transferring responsibility to the city, is less than $440/m3.
