ERLANGEN, Germany (Nov. 12, 2013) – Siemens Energy has received orders for a total of 20 SGT-800 industrial gas turbines from Thailand. The turbines will be used in various combined cycle cogeneration power plants within Thailand. The contract is part of the Thai government’s program to support small power producers. The end customers are the Thai independent power producers Amata B.Grimm Power Limited (ABP), which ordered 10 turbines, SSUT Co. Ltd. & PPTC Co. Ltd.
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Nov. 11, 2013) – Nidec Corporation, headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, has named Kei Pang chief executive officer of Nidec Motor Corporation (NMC). Pang, who has served NMC as President and COO since April 2012, replaces Patrick Murphy, who resigned his position in October.

(Nov. 8, 2013) – GE’s high-performance LEAPmbr membrane bioreactor (MBR) wastewater-treatment technology will be the centerpiece of an upgrade to Unitywater’s Maleny sewage treatment plant in Queensland, Australia, and is expected to allow the plant to double the amount of water treated per day to one million liters.
