NEW YORK (Jan. 20, 2014) – At the 2014 Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) in New York City, Grundfos and U.S. Boiler Company announced an agreement to pair Grundfos’ ALPHATM circulators as options on most U.S. Boiler gas cast-iron heating products. The combined product leverages both companies’ individual competencies in the industry and provides a solution for efficient heating in residential and light commercial applications.

(Jan. 22, 2014) – To respond to the growing global demand for reliable valve technology, Metso has decided to build a new green-field global valve technology center in Chungju, South Korea. The investment will strengthen Metso’s control valve and service capabilities for customers in the oil & gas and power industries, both locally and globally. The new facility will be ready to begin global deliveries in September 2014.

EAST AURORA, N.Y. (Jan. 21, 2014) – Astronics Corporation announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets and liabilities of EADS North America's Test and Services division (EADS T&S) for approximately $53 million in cash plus a net working capital adjustment. The agreement is expected to close in February, subject to normal closing requirements including Hart-Scott-Rodino approval.

ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2014) – Siemens and Open Joint Stock Company Fortum have signed a long-term service contract for the Nyaganskaya GRES combined-cycle power plant in Nyagan, Russia. Nyaganskaya GRES is the world’s largest thermal power plant operating above the latitude of 62 degrees north and is the largest thermal power plant greenfield construction project in northern Russia. The power station consists of three combined-cycle power units totaling 1,254 megawatts (MW).

ZURICH (Jan. 21, 2014) – ABB, a power and automation technology group, has signed a cooperation agreement with NAPA, a software house supplying solutions for ship design and operation.

ABB and NAPA will cooperate to offer the NAPA Loading Computer and the electronic NAPA Logbook. The products will be offered under ABB’s Vessel Information and Control (VICO) portfolio, as part of a complete advisory solution devised to optimize ship efficiency.
