SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland (Sept. 19, 2013) – Xylem Inc. has won a contract to develop and install a secondary wastewater treatment solution that will eliminate effluent odor problems and significantly improve the quality of wastewater in the town of Tolu on the Colombian Caribbean coast. The Xylem solution is one of the first wastewater treatment systems using ultraviolet (UV) disinfection to be developed in Colombia.

HELSINKI, Finland (Sept. 19, 2013) – Metso's automation business has been recognized by the Brazilian Pulp and Paper Technical Association (ABTCP) with the award of "Top supplier of automation for the pulp and paper industry." The voting phase included professionals from the sector and a strict technical evaluation of the candidates. The awards, regarded as the most prestigious in the pulp and paper segment in Brazil, have been organized by ABTCP for the past 12 years.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Sept. 17, 2013) – The Hydraulic Institute (HI) & Pump Systems Matter (PSM) will host a one-day pump systems optimization course on Oct. 22 at the Grand Historic Venue & Embassy Suites Downtown in Baltimore—one day prior to HI’s 2013 Fall Conference. The course is designed to help pump users learn how to identify and reduce hidden operating and energy costs in their pump systems and ultimately increase profitability of their business.

NEWNAN, Ga. (Sept. 16, 2013) – Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces that Yokogawa Solution Service Corporation, a subsidiary that oversees Yokogawa’s IA and control business in Japan, has received an order from JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation (JXE) to execute the front end engineering design (FEED) for a project to consolidate the control rooms and systems at its Mizushima-A oil refinery.

Loranger as Chief Executive Officer and President, effective immediately. Mr. Loranger was Chairman, President and CEO of ITT Corporation when it spun its water businesses off as Xylem in October 2011.
