NUREMBERG, Germany (Oct. 18, 2013) – The cement producer Thai TPI Polene Public Company Limited has placed an order with Siemens for engineering and supply of the power distribution system and drives for the new clinker production line in Saraburi, Thailand. Siemens will be supplying the drive solutions as well as the switchgear for the high, medium and low-voltage distribution systems and is also responsible for project management and engineering.

Stafford, Texas (Oct. 15, 2013) – COOPER® Valves has acquired Accuseal, a manufacturer of severe service metal-seated ball valves. The acquisition will strengthen COOPER Valves’ position within the severe service valve market. Accuseal will conduct future business as a brand of COOPER Valves under the name COOPER Accuseal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

(Oct. 15, 2013) – The State of the Market: Latin America Mining Report 2013 reveals that earnings from copper and iron ore were the most important sources of Latin American mining revenue last year. The region's total mined revenue was more than U.S. $150 billion in 2012, with two-thirds coming from copper and iron ore.
