BERLIN (Jan. 9, 2013) – SKF signed an agreement to acquire German-based ship components provider Blohm + Voss Industries (BVI) from Star Capital Partners. SKF will pay 80 MEUR for 100 percent of the equity of BVI and assumes net loans/cash of 18 MEUR. The transaction is subject to relevant regulatory approvals.

ZURICH, Switzerland (Jan. 9, 2013) – ABB has won an order to design and deliver 420 kilovolt (kV) high voltage gas insulated switchgear (GIS) that will facilitate the supply of power to a new desalination facility and support the grid integration of a new 2.5 gigawatts (GW) power generation plant.
HELSINKI (Jan. 9, 2013) – Wärtsilä has signed two important long-term service agreements covering Amman Asia Electric Power’s power plant in Al Manakher, Jordan. The agreements comprise a 15-year Parts Supply Agreement, as well as a 5-year Technical Service Agreement with KEPCO Plant Service & Engineering Co., Ltd, the operations and maintenance contractor for the power plant. The contract was signed in October 2012.
WINTERTHUR, Switzerland (Dec. 19, 2012) – Sulzer Metco announces the completion of the acquisition of Russian company, Protective Coatings LLC, formerly SP Technicord LLC, as of Dec. 18, 2012. With this acquisition, Sulzer Metco expands its geographical and technology presence, and will benefit from long-term growth trends in selective Russian industrial markets.
MIDDLEFIELD, Ohio (Dec. 1, 2012) – BaseTek celebrated the grand opening of their newly constructed 26,000 square foot state-of-the art manufacturing plant located in Middlefield, Ohio. The new larger facility provides increased climate-controlled space for production and the opportunity to stock additional product ready for quick deliveries. BaseTek, LLC manufactures quality polymer castings for the pump and rotating equipment industries.
IRVING, Texas (Nov. 5, 2012) – ExxonMobil continues to work to support distribution of gasoline and fuel throughout the area affected by Hurricane Sandy and is donating $1 million to the American Red Cross for disaster relief assistance in New York, New Jersey and the Caribbean.

Parsippany, NJ (July 11, 2012) – The Hydraulic Institute (HI) has updated the 2001 edition of the ANSI/HI standard on submersible pump tests and published ANSI/HI 11.6 – 2012 Rotodynamic Submersible Pumps for Hydraulic Performance, Hydrostatic Pressure, Mechanical, and Electrical Acceptance Tests. The updated standard applies to customer acceptance testing of submersible pumps driven by induction motors, unless otherwise agreed or specified.
Metso has also signed an agreement with Hitachi Zosen Inova AG to supply automation for two lines at a greenfield waste-to-energy plant being built by SITA South Tyne and Wear Ltd. in Tees Valley, Billingham, U.K.
