Waukegan, Ill. – The Drives and Motion Division of Yaskawa America, Inc. has announced the appointment of Doug Burnside to the position of Drives Group vice president.
Burnside replaces long-time Drives Group Vice President Mark Bernicky, who will be taking on a new role for Yaskawa, focused on strengthening customer relationships.

FORT SMITH, Ark. – ABB has announced it has signed an agreement to purchase Aurora Motors. This acquisition provides a well-regarded product portfolio, a longstanding customer base in 30 countries and an experienced customer-centered sales structure, as well as solid partnerships with strategic suppliers. Aurora Motors is a $4 million U.S.
DUBLIN – Eaton has announced the appointment of Omar Zaire to president, Corporate and Electrical Sector, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Zaire succeeds Tim Darkes, who has announced his upcoming retirement from Eaton, effective June 1, 2025. Zaire will report to Heath Monesmith, chief operating officer, Electrical Sector, and will join Eaton’s senior leadership team.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Motion Industries, Inc., has signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire the operating assets of Canadian-based Stoney Creek Hydraulics. The transaction is expected to close at the end of October, subject to customary closing conditions.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Petroleum Institute (API) has announced the publication of Addendum 1 to API RP 2001, 10th Edition, “Fire Protection in Refineries.” This addendum strengthens existing fire safety measures by introducing new protocols for pre-planning and incident response in refineries.
HELSINKI, Finland – Metso’s board of directors has appointed Sami Takaluoma (born 1973, M.Sc. (Eng.)) as Metso’s new president and CEO. He will assume his duties on November 1, 2024. Metso’s current President and CEO, Pekka Vauramo, will continue with the company as per his contract until the end of 2024, ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities. Takaluoma has been with Metso since 1997 and has led Metso’s Services business area since 2021.
DALLAS – Flowserve Corporation has announced that it has completed the acquisition of MOGAS Industries. This transaction helps strengthen Flowserve’s presence in mission-critical severe service valves and associated aftermarket services.
