ZURICH, Switzerland (Oct. 27, 2016)—ABB announced that Timo Ihamuotila has been named Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee, effective April 1, 2017. Ihamuotila succeeds current CFO Eric Elzvik in an orderly transition process. Elzvik will pursue career opportunities outside of ABB after a thorough handover in second quarter of 2017, according to a statement from the company.

ZURICH, Switzerland (18 December 2014)—ABB Chairman Hubertus von Grünberg and Michael Treschow have decided not to stand for re-election to the board of directors at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM). The board of directors of ABB unanimously nominated Peter Voser to succeed Hubertus von Grünberg as chairman. David Constable will stand for election at the AGM, as previously announced, and all other members of the board will stand for re-election.
TOKYO and ZURICH (Dec. 16, 2014) – ABB and Hitachi announced an agreement to form a joint venture for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) system solutions in Japan. The new entity, to be based in Tokyo, will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply and after-sales services related to the DC system of HVDC projects, bringing ABB's latest technologies to the Japanese market where Hitachi will be the prime contractor.
ZURICH, Switzerland (3 December 2014)—ABB has won orders worth $55 million from public utilities, Bihar Grid Corporation Limited (BGCL) and West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL), to build new transmission and distribution substations that will boost power supplies in the region.
ZURICH (13 November 2014)—ABB has won orders from Ansaldo Energia, Italy’s largest supplier, installer and service provider for power generation plants and components, to supply a plant automation system and substation expansion for the new Ain Djasser III gas-fired power plant in the northern province of Batna, Algeria. The plant is operated by Sociéte Algérienne de Production de l'Electricité, Algeria’s largest power generation company.
