BADEN, Switzerland (Aug. 6, 2014) – ABB announced that it has signed a five-year maintenance agreement with Prestige Cruise Holdings (PCH) to provide services, parts and support for all turbochargers installed on its fleet of eight cruise ships. The contract provides global access to maintenance services for the turbochargers to ensure their continued safe and reliable operation.
ZURICH (May 19, 2014) – ABB has won contracts worth in excess of $20 million to supply electrical power and propulsion systems for two offshore vessels.
The first vessel, of ULSTEIN SX165 design, is being constructed at Ulstein Verft in Norway for Island Ventures 11, the joint venture set up in 2012 by the leading US and Norwegian owners Edison Chouest Offshore and Island Offshore, whose advanced subsea service vessels provide high quality solutions to the offshore oil industry.
ZURICH (May 12, 2014) – ABB has secured a new order to supply electric power plant and Azipod propulsion units for one ice breaker vessel built for Finnish Transport Agency (FTA) at Arctech Helsinki Shipyard. The competitive bidding was done between several suppliers.

ZURICH (March 21, 2014) – ABB announced that it has signed an agreement to divest the Thomas & Betts’ heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) business for $260 million in an all-cash transaction to Nortek, Inc., headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island. The sale is expected to close in the second quarter of 2014, subject to regulatory clearance.
ZURICH (March 17, 2014) – ABB has won an order from Spanish ferry operator Baleària to supply energy management systems for one of its largest vessels. ABB’s advisory software will be installed onboard the ferry Martin i Soler, with an option to extend the project to two further vessels in the Baleària fleet.
