DALLAS, Texas - Patrick L. Acker, P.E., joins planning, engineering and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) as a senior project manager. In this role, he will provide quality control and technical oversight for the firm’s water and waste water projects in North Texas. He will also play a key role in mentoring employees in the region.

Acker has 37 years of experience as a civil engineer. He has designed hundreds of projects, including land development, transportation, levees, recreational, water and wastewater infrastructure, and large diameter pipelines for public and private sectors throughout North Texas.

Some of his notable projects include franchise utility coordination and master planning for the widening of Central Expressway/U.S. 75 from Woodall Rogers to LBJ Freeway and managing the design of 10 miles of 72-inch raw water main and discharge structure into Lake Lewisville. Acker also led the team that designed the water and wastewater infrastructure, pumping and treatment facilities for the South Sulphur and Doctors Creek State Parks located on the shores of Lake Chapman (formerly Cooper Lake).

Acker received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the American Public Works Association, American Water Works Association, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He is a registered professional engineer and land surveyor in Texas.
