FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Jessie Hinther, sales manager for Franklin Electric’s U.S. Industrial – Central Region, has been elected president of the Submersible Wastewater Pump Association (SWPA), an organization serving the manufacturers of submersible pumps for municipal and industrial wastewater applications; the manufacturers of component parts and accessories for submersible pump lift stations; and companies that provide services to users of those products. 

CLEVELAND -- Olympic Steel Inc., a national metals service center, announced that Jeffrey A. Carson has joined the company as general manager for the Bettendorf, Iowa facility.

In this position, Carson will be responsible for driving the safe, profitable growth of temper mill processing, fabrication and metal distribution for the facility and the geographic region it serves. He will report directly to Thomas J. Sacco, regional vice president.

Kimberly, Wis. – Crane Engineering announced that they finalized the acquisition of Rapids Process Equipment (RPE), a company providing service and repair primarily to the pulp and paper industry in northern Minnesota.

The deal adds a fourth location for Crane Engineering and further supports their expansion into Minnesota. Crane Engineering added a Service Center in Burnsville, Minnesota in September 2020.

BALTIMORE, Md. – Hazen and Sawyer has announced the appointment of Kate Naughton PE, CFM as Principal Engineer.

Naughton most recently worked in the Dams and Hydraulics Section of a consulting engineering firm for more than seven years, where her duties included performing hydrologic, hydraulic, and safe yield studies for water resources infrastructure projects, as well as facilitating emergency action plans and exercises for high hazard dams.
