HOUSTON (Dec. 12, 2013) – Hoover Container Solutions (Hoover), a subsidiary of Hoover Group, Inc., has announced the grand opening of its new distribution and service center in Scott, La. The opening of this facility will provide an increased ease of operation for Hoover products and services to the Gulf of Mexico and the southeastern United States.

ERLANGEN, Germany (Dec. 11, 2013) – The Lünen hard-coal-fired power plant owned by Trianel Kohlkraftwerk Lünen GmbH und Co. KG has been on line in continuous operation since December 2013. The plant was built as a turnkey unit under a consortium arrangement between Siemens and IHI Corporation. It has an installed electrical capacity of 750 megawatts. With 7,000 full-load operating hours predicted for 2014 the Lünen plant can provide electricity for around 1.5 million households.

ATLANTA (Dec. 11, 2013) – Siemens Industry announced the roll-out of its Managed Security Service in the U.S., a new offering aimed at providing continuous protection to production environments. The offering includes assessment of security posture, implementation of recommended security measures and transitions into ongoing defense against rapidly evolving cyber security threats in Industrial Control System environments. The new offering will first be introduced in the U.S.

AARHUS, Denmark (Dec. 5, 2013) – Phosphorus scarcity may become a major challenge in the future. As a nutrient it is an essential factor in plant growth and therefore an important element of food production for a growing global population. Naturally occurring phosphorus which can be mined for fertilizer is a limited resource in danger of being exhausted. Phosphorus recycling and new ways of mining it have therefore become areas receiving global attention.
