LAFAYETTE, La. (Sept. 26, 2013) – Frank’s International N.V. held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new operations facility, located at 708 Beau Pre Road in Lafayette. The 175,000-square-foot facility will consist of a combination of shop, warehouse and office space to house the company’s operational departments and approximately 200 employees. Construction is planned to be completed by October 2014.

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. (Sept. 27, 2013) – The 2013 FISA Annual Conference was recently held in Savannah, Ga. FISA brings together independent distributors and manufacturers serving high purity and sanitary processing industries in food, beverage, personal care, pharmaceutical and Bio-pharm. At the conference, FISA featured a seminar from Allen Sayler, managing partner for the Center for Food Safety and Regulatory Solutions (CFSRS).

KYOTO, Japan (Sept. 25, 2013) – Nidec Corporation today announced that one of its wholly owned subsidiaries, Nidec Sankyo Corporation ("Nidec Sankyo"), has agreed to purchase all of the shares of common stock of Mitsubishi Materials C.M.I. Corporation ("CMI") from Mitsubishi Materials Corporation ("Mitsubishi Materials") (the "Transaction"). Nidec Sankyo and Mitsubishi Materials have entered into a basic agreement in connection with the Transaction as of September 26, 2013.

HOUSTON (Sept. 24, 2013) – Invensys has acquired InduSoft. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, and founded in 1997, InduSoft has delivered more than 250,000 HMI software licenses to more than 700 customers worldwide, primarily industrial computer manufacturers and machine and system builders, who embed InduSoft’s software into their products.

WASHINGTON (Sept. 24, 2013) – The global energy industry must play a greater role in the transition to sustainable energy systems if United Nations development goals are to be met, warns a report launched by the World Energy Council (WEC).

The potential for billions of people benefiting from sustainable energy systems in future decades hangs in the balance without increased private sector support, it says.
