Eighty years ago today, Gorman-Rupp was founded by J.C. Gorman and Herb Rupp, two entrepreneurs who had a chance encounter on the streets of Mansfield, Ohio. That meeting in March 1933 was the formation of what would eventually become one of the premier pump manufacturing organizations in America - and one that would have worldwide impact.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (Feb. 28, 2013) – National Pump Company (NPC) announced the appointment of Allen Hobratschk to President of National Pump and recently acquired American Turbine Pump. Hobratschk joined National Pump in 1980, working alongside Roger Jeschke, in developing the company. Roger Jeschke, former President, has assumed the role of Vice President of Business Development.
LEONBERG, Germany (Feb. 27, 2013) – Since Feb. 1 of this year, the Pump and System Division of the Lewa-Nikkiso Group has been led by a triumvirate. The former CEO of Lewa GmbH, Bernd Stütz, already left the company at the end of 2012. On Jan. 1, Naota Shikano took over as his successor. Shikano is now sharing responsibility for the pump and systems business of the entire group with Stefan Glasmeyer, who is responsible for sales, and with Dr.
PLYMOUTH, Mich. (Feb. 22, 2013) – Freudenberg Sealing Technologies’ laser welding process, which eliminates up to 73 percent of the engineered waste produced during traditional stamping operations, has won a coveted Manufacturing Leadership 100 Sustainability Award from Frost & Sullivan’s Manufacturing Leadership Council.
BALTIMORE (Feb. 22, 2013) – Ole Møller-Jensen will take over as President of the Danfoss Power Electronics division with effect from March 2013. Ole Møller-Jensen is currently the Senior Vice President of the VLT Drives business unit in Danfoss Power Electronics. He joined Danfoss in 1978, and has held a number of positions primarily within sales & marketing, product development and business management.
ANNECY, France (Feb. 21, 2013) – ClydeUnion Pumps, an SPX Brand, received a contract to supply a specialized fire protection pump for the Iberdrola S.A. Cofrentes nuclear power plant in Spain. The order for the seismic fire protection pump was awarded to SPX in December 2012 by the plant operator Iberdrola S.A. with a scheduled delivery in March 2014.
KYOTO, Japan (Feb. 20, 2013) – Nidec Corporation announced that it has established a new sales office named NIDEC ASI JAPAN CORPORATION in Tokyo, Japan, to increase brand exposure for NIDEC ASI S.p.A. and expand its sales in the Japanese and South Korean industrial applications markets.
GLASGOW, Scotland (Feb. 20, 2013) – The Weir Group PLC has extended its presence and capabilities in global mining and oil sands markets with the acquisition of a leading Canadian based manufacturer of wear resistant linings. In addition, Weir’s cost supply chain strategy has been advanced with the acquisition of a Malaysian foundry and agreement to acquire a heavy bay foundry in South Africa.
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (Feb. 20, 2013) – IDEX CORPORATION announced the appointment of Cynthia ‘CJ’ Warner to the company’s Board of Directors.
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (Feb. 19, 2013) – Xylem Inc. and Empire State Development (ESD) jointly announced that Xylem will relocate its headquarters to a larger facility in Westchester County later this year, keeping more than 100 jobs in the state of New York and creating 15 more by 2016.
