(27 February 2015)—Royal Dutch Shell plc (Shell) announced the Pearl gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant in Qatar entered planned maintenance in February 2015. Pearl GTL comprises two identical GTL trains, with a total capacity of 140,000 barrels per day of GTL products plus 120,000 barrels per day of natural gas liquids and ethane. One train, representing half the facility, has recently begun a planned turnaround maintenance progam, which will continue for a period of some 2 months.

HOUSTON (March 4, 2015) – FlexEnergy, Inc., manufacturer of the synchronous generator-based micro-turbines, announced that it has partnered with Waukesha-Pearce Industries (WPI) as its distributor for FlexEnergy’s robust turbine technology. LONDON (March 2, 2015) – SPX’s Glasgow facility, which produces its ClydeUnion Pumps, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the “Manufacturer of the Year” category for this year’s Annual Pump Industry Awards.

In addition, three SPX engineers based in Glasgow, Emma Lambert, Stewart Skinner and Affan Waseem, have been shortlisted for “The Engineer of the Year” category.
