FORT WAYNE, Indiana (April 10, 2017) -- Franklin Electric Co., Inc. is expanding its groundwater distribution channel with the acquisition of three distributors in the U.S. professional groundwater market. The company announced it has purchased controlling interests in 2M Company Inc of Montana, Western Hydro Holding Corporation of California and Drillers Service of North Carolina for approximately $89 million.

Dover Energy Automation this month announced a partnership with SparkCognition to bring predictive capabilities to DEA clients.

According to a release, the partnership will use artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the safety, efficiency and reliability of their operations. As pressure increases to perform better with less money and manpower, manufacturers can use AI-powered technology for monitoring and analysis.

HELSINKI, Finland -- Wärtsilä will supply a 21 MW Smart Power Generation power plant to the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to a statement from the company.

The order includes three Wärtsilä 34SG-LPG engines running on propane gas. Wärtsilä’s scope covers the entire engineering, procurement and construction of the power plant, which will be located on St. Thomas island. The order is booked for the first quarter of 2017 and is slated for completion in early 2018.
