IRVINE, Calif. (Sept. 18, 2014) – Georg Fischer LLC (GF Piping Systems) and GF Machining Solutions LLC, both part of Switzerland-based Georg Fischer LTD, will celebrate the Grand Opening of their new Irvine facilities Oct. 9 at 9271 Jeronimo Road, Irvine, California, from 3-8 p.m. Following the official grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremonies at 3:30, guests can tour the joining company facilities and enjoy refreshments.

The spacious 105,000-square-foot Irvine campus includes office and work space for more than 100 employees in sales, engineering and technical support and custom manufacturing, as well as training facilities, a warehouse, an application demonstration room showcasing working product examples in several life-like settings, machine demonstration space and an extensive spare parts supply. Among the demonstration room applications is a grocery store refrigerator case filled with products that use GF's COOL-FIT® ABS Plus Piping System, which is designed for indirect cooling in breweries, wineries (and other beverages), food production, dairies, supermarkets and air conditioning. Beer from breweries using the COOL-FIT system will be served at the event. Other life-like product demonstrations include an aquarium, a cruise ship lavatory compartment, a pharmaceutical laboratory sink, a deionized water skid and a chemical plant tank. Machines to be featured at the event include the newest technology in three and five-axis high-speed and high-performance machining centers, the latest electrical discharge machining (EDM) and system 3R tooling and automation technology.

Heading up GF Piping Systems is James Jackson, head of Business Unit Americas. “GF already has a significant U.S. footprint with many locations across the country,” Jackson said. “Our new, larger facilities will allow us to increase our presence on the west coast by providing additional custom manufacturing, training capabilities and expanded personnel.”

According to Glynn Fletcher, president GF Machining Solutions Americas, the new Irvine location will further strengthen customer service. “We want to provide extraordinary service and support for our western region customers,” Fletcher said. “We are investing in the resources to ensure that this is the case. The opening of this superb facility reinforces that commitment.”
