MANSFIELD, Oh. -- IDEAL has added John Trapp to the team as our Sales Manager - Defense. Trapp comes with extensive experience in military defense and in rotating electrical equipment. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft maintenance officer on both tactical and strategic airlift aircraft. John retired, after 26 years of service, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in November 2011, and he resides in Hartford, Connecticut.
Trapp's extensive experience selling large, custom engineered rotating electrical equipment began in 1993 with the Westinghouse Motor Co. and continued in 2009 with Ward Leonard Electric. This position was in outside sales as the Sales Manager-DoD Products where they were responsible for the 440V motor and control products that are custom engineered for applications on U.S. Navy surface combatant vessels and submarines.
