WAUKESHA, Wis. (August 10, 2017) – Motorenfabrik Hatz of Ruhstorf, Germany has officially named Michael Hartoonian as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hatz Diesel of America. He will oversee the international company’s North American Operations including Canada. Hartoonian has 24 years of engine industry experience in both sales and management.

GE Water & Process Technologies today announced that it will supply its advanced water treatment equipment for an upgrade of the Lake Manatee Water Treatment Plant in Florida. The facility is responsible for purifying drinking water for over 350,000 residents and has the capacity to process 52 million gallons of water per day from the existing conventional surface water treatment plant.
Annika Berglund, Atlas Copco’s Senior Vice President Corporate Communications and Governmental Affairs, will leave her position at the end of the year.
Berglund has been with the company for nearly four decades. She began her career at Atlas Copco in 1979 to work in marketing and sales before joining management in 1997 to lead the Corporate Communications department.
Italy-based Ebara Pumps Europe is expanding to South Africa, the company has announced.
Ebara has established a new company in Johannesburg, South Africa, for sales of standard pumps for household, general industrial and construction-industry use. The company will employ around 30 people, according to company records.
Wilo USA, a provider of pumps and pump solutions for building services, water management, and groundwater, is pleased to announce it has under the terms of an asset deal, acquired pump manufacturers Weil Pump Co. Inc., and Scot Pump Company, as well as the component manufacturer Karak Machine Corporation. The three companies employ around 150 people and have headquarters and production facilities in Cedarburg, WI, and Fort Lauderdale, FL.
A combined approach to maximize wet weather treatment is the topic of the open access article in the August 2017 edition of Water Environment Research (WER). “In their paper on wet-weather clarifier performance, Daigger et al. introduce a strategy to increase capacity by mitigating the effect of increased solids and hydraulic loading using a step-feed flow regime,” said Tim Ellis, WER editor-in-chief.

Weir Oil & Gas has completed an acquisition of KOP Surface Products for an estimated $114 million, the company announced last week.
Weir first announced plans to acquire KOP in June 2017. The company says the expansion reflects its goal of global expansion, with a particular focus on the Asia Pacific region.
KOP's chief executive Gordon Cameron will continue to serve as president, reporting to Weir's Oil & Gas Division President Paul Coppinger.
DAMMAN, Saudi Arabia -- Emerson Automation Solutions has recruited 15 Saudi nationals to their Beginners Integration Training (BIT) Program this month.
The trainees recently graduated from top universities in Saudi Arabia and the U.S. The BIT Program aims to train 15 graduates annually for full-time Emerson positions each year.
