DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (Feb. 13, 2017)—German-based pump manufacturer Wilo celebrated laying the foundation stone for its new facility located in the Jafza (Jebel Ali Free Zone) of Dubai, according to a statement from the company.

Wilo said that by investing in the Dubai economic hub, the company is acknowledging the region’s growing prominence and responding to the market’s increasing requirements.

RYE BROOK, N.Y. (Feb. 9, 2017)—Employees from Xylem logged more than 21,000 volunteer hours in 2016 in activities aimed at providing and protecting safe water resources and educating people about water, sanitation and hygiene, according to a statement from the company.

Xylem Watermark, its corporate citizenship platform, last year launched a service-focused employee engagement program in support of this mission with a goal of logging 100,000 volunteer hours in three years.

FRANKENTHAL, Germany (Feb. 8, 2017)—KSB has divested the business activities of its subsidiary KSB AMRI Inc. effective Jan. 31, 2017, according to a statement from KSB.

Located in Houston, Texas, the U.S. company produces shut-off butterfly valves and actuators. The products are used for chlorine production in the chemical industry. With a workforce of 33, KSB AMRI Inc. generated sales revenue of 9.5 million euros in 2015, according to KSB.

(Feb. 7, 2017)—Needing to meet new total nitrogen removal requirements while remaining in its existing footprint, Flanders’ wastewater treatment company, Aquafin, chose to upgrade the Schilde Wastewater Treatment Plant by means of a unique combined solution of GE’s ZeeLung Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) and ZeeWeed membrane bioreactor (MBR) technologies.
