LUBBOCK, Texas – SIMFLO will soon open its third United States location in Southaven, Mississippi, part of the greater Memphis region. The company—which has been headquartered in Lubbock, Texas, since 1951—also operates a facility in Willcox, Arizona, and recently completed construction of a new state-of-the-art, 35,000-square-foot Engineered Products Facility in Lubbock, which is one of the largest and most advanced vertical turbine pump test facility in North America.

STAMFORD, Conn – United Rentals, Inc. has announced that Dale Asplund, executive vice president and chief operating officer, will be leaving the company on September 29, 2023, to take the role of president and chief executive officer at another public company outside of the equipment rental industry. Asplund joined United Rentals in 1998 and was named chief operating officer in 2019.

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Ingersoll Rand Inc. has completed the acquisition of Howden Roots LLC (“Roots”) from Chart Industries, Inc. in an all-cash transaction of approximately $300 million. As part of the transaction, Ingersoll Rand has assumed ownership of the Connersville, Indiana, manufacturing facility.
NACKA, Sweden – Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire Sykes Group Pty Ltd from Seven Group Holdings Ltd., a company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.
The purchase price is not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2023. The business will become part of the Power and Flow Division within the Power Technique Business Area.
WILLISTON, Vt. – Flexaseal Engineered Seals and Systems, LLC has announced the acquisition of Sound Seal and Packing, based in Edmonds, Washington. This strategic acquisition establishes a physical presence for Flexaseal in the Pacific Northwest.
Sound Seal's founders, Ward Forrest and Theresa Forrest, will continue with the company, and Flexaseal's Jon Watzka is being promoted to Service and Operations Manager of the Pacific Northwest Seal Service and Repair Center.
PITTSBURGH – Eaton has announced a contract valued at approximately $6 million to provide the city of Georgetown, Texas, with turnkey electrical engineering services, power distribution, control and protection equipment to help establish its new South Lake Water Treatment Plant. With construction expected to be completed in 2026, the water treatment facility will process more than 44 million gallons per day to double local capacity for the growing community.
