ABERDEEN, Miss. (Aug. 5, 2014) – GE’s Digital Energy business and the City of Aberdeen has announced plans to implement GE’s Solutions as a Service (SaaS) technology. SaaS is a cloud-based, fee-for-service grid management system that enables small- and mid-market utilities, like the City of Aberdeen, to build modern and interconnected grids.

WINTERTHUR, Switzerland (August 4, 2014) – Sulzer announced that it completed its definitive agreement to acquire both Grayson Armature businesses, Grayson Armature Large Motor Division, Inc. and Grayson Armature Orange Texas, Inc., for a deal valued at $42 million. The closing of this acquisition, completed August 1, 2014, makes Sulzer one of the largest partners for electromechanical services in the Gulf Coast area.
DAVIDSON, N.C. (Aug. 4, 2014) – Ingersoll Rand announced that it acquired the assets of Energy Equipment and Supply Inc., an Ingersoll Rand Master Distributor based in Casper, Wyoming. Energy Equipment and Supply Inc. sells compressed air and gas equipment, parts and services in Wyoming, Montana and the western regions of North Dakota and South Dakota.
SENECA FALLS, N.Y. (August 4, 2014) – ITT Corporation unveiled the newest addition to its Seneca Falls, New York, manufacturing campus: an advanced testing and packaging facility for its engineered pumps used primarily by the global oil and gas, petrochemical and mining industries. The new building totals 89,000 square feet including office space, with approximately 79,000 square feet dedicated to product operations.

The machines are destined for the coal-fired units of the North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) located in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand, and for IB Thermal Power Station Banharpalli in the neighboring state of Odisha.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (August 4, 2014) – Franklin Electric Co., Inc., completed two acquisitions in India. In the first, Franklin Electric acquired 70 percent of the outstanding stock of Pluga Pumps and Motors Private Limited, based in a newly constructed facility in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. Pluga designs, manufactures and distributes groundwater motor and pumping equipment through 11 branch offices located throughout India.
