WEST PALM BEACH, Florida -- Xylem has been selected to provide advanced UV disinfection technology to the first UV-treated drinking water application in Florida.

Xylem's technology will increase protection against cryptosporidium, which is the leading cause of waterborne disease outbreaks in the U.S. According to a Xylem release, 750,000 people are affected each year by the parasite, which is resistant to chlorine. It is, however, easily inactivated by a low ultraviolet dose.

Grundfos has tapped Rebecca Martinez O'Mara as new vice president of Service for the Americas region.

O'Mara joins Grundfos from Sullair, where she was VP for Sullair's aftermarket, remanufacturing and pneumatic tools business.

In her new role, O’Mara will be responsible for building and executing on Grundfos Pumps’ regional Service strategy in alignment with the region’s overall growth strategy.

SILVER SPRINGS, Maryland -- Grundfos is joining forces with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) International on an initiative to deliver safe water to 1.5 million people across the globe.

The project looks to use innovative water supply technology to improve access to water and hygiene resources, in addition to using solar-power water kiosks to generate income for entrepreneurs.
