Waleed Salman, Chairman of Dubai Carbon.

As a knowledge sharing tool, the report catalyzes innovation and supports sustainable development of the federal energy sector. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is contributing through international perspective and supports the project through quality assurance of all editorial via its energy and environment team.

Sayed Aqa, the U.N. Resident Coordinator and UNDP’s Resident Representative in the UAE, stated that “The Report launched is the first of its kind in the region, addressing pressing energy issues covering work of both the public and the private sectors in the UAE”

Aqa also added, “This report is a reflection of the UAE’s leadership and political commitment to emerge as a center of innovation, investment, and technology for sustainable energy. UNDP is honored to be a part of this initiative with the Ministry of Energy and Dubai Carbon.”

The energy sector was represented by high level representatives of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA), The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA), Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, Opower, Emirates National Oil Company Ltd (ENOC), Dolphin Energy Limited, Emirates Transport, Pöyry Switzerland Ltd, Dubai Municipality, Emrill, Emerson Commercial and Residential Solutions (InSinkErator).
