ELMHURST, Ill. (July 9, 2013) – Val-Matic acquired a 60,000-square-foot building in Addison, Ill. This will be its second facility and will provide the company with a total of 177,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space. The new facility will be used for their largest valves and new industrial Trunnion Ball and Triple Offset Butterfly Valves. It will also be used for the Engineering Research and Development personnel and the Engineering Laboratory and Flow Loop.

HOUSTON (July 9, 2013) – Toshiba International Corporation (TIC) recently completed an expansion of its control plant located in Houston. The expansion provides an additional 107,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space and is scheduled to commence production in the new space by fall 2013.
PORT ORANGE, Fla. (July 9, 2013) – Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc., headquartered in Port Orange, Fla., announces the recent move of their southern Mississippi branch from Pass Christian to a larger facility at 9257 West Oaklawn Rd. in Biloxi.
GROVETOWN, Ga. (July 9, 2013) – GIW Industries announced the application of its hard-wearing double-wall pumps in Lianyungang, China. This project marks GIW's first collaboration with the Lianyungang Harbor Bureau, which has launched a new dredging vessel to perform much-needed maintenance and new work in the Lianyungang Harbor.
CHICAGO (July 9, 2013) – GE has been selected by ComEd, a unit of Chicago-based Exelon Corporation and the electric utility serving Northern Illinois, to deliver approximately 4 million smart meters from 2013 to 2021 in a deal worth more than $200 million (U.S.). The smart meters will allow ComEd’s customers to better manage their energy usage and help ComEd more quickly detect and restore power outages.

BLUFFTON, Ind. (June 26, 2013) – Following Franklin Electric’s recent acquisition of Cerus Industrial, the company announced plans to rebrand the subsidiary as Franklin Control Systems, effective immediately. Based in Hillsboro, Ore., Franklin Control Systems will lead the company’s efforts in the design and production of electronic drives and controls for water pumping, HVAC and industrial systems.
PITTSBURGH (June 25, 2013) – Industrial manufacturer Eaton announced it has received multiple service contracts from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to evaluate and modernize lighting systems at the Pentagon, the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense located in Arlington County, Va.
