ELMHURST, Ill. (July 9, 2013) – Val-Matic acquired a 60,000-square-foot building in Addison, Ill. This will be its second facility and will provide the company with a total of 177,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space. The new facility will be used for their largest valves and new industrial Trunnion Ball and Triple Offset Butterfly Valves. It will also be used for the Engineering Research and Development personnel and the Engineering Laboratory and Flow Loop.

CHICAGO (July 9, 2013) – GE has been selected by ComEd, a unit of Chicago-based Exelon Corporation and the electric utility serving Northern Illinois, to deliver approximately 4 million smart meters from 2013 to 2021 in a deal worth more than $200 million (U.S.). The smart meters will allow ComEd’s customers to better manage their energy usage and help ComEd more quickly detect and restore power outages.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (June 27, 2013) – Accelerated Companies, LLC, a portfolio company of White Deer Energy L.P., acquired DynaFlo Artificial Lift Systems and Five Star Equipment, LLC. DynaFlo and Five Star are Oklahoma-based providers of electric submersible pumps (“ESPs”) and related services to the oil and gas industry.

BLUFFTON, Ind. (June 26, 2013) – Following Franklin Electric’s recent acquisition of Cerus Industrial, the company announced plans to rebrand the subsidiary as Franklin Control Systems, effective immediately. Based in Hillsboro, Ore., Franklin Control Systems will lead the company’s efforts in the design and production of electronic drives and controls for water pumping, HVAC and industrial systems.
