The performance of a centrifugal pump with a trimmed impeller will follow the affinity laws as long as that trim is relatively small.
I am having a tough time finding pump manufacturers who offer NSF certified pumps. It sounds simple enough at face value but many searches and conversations have been futile. Maybe you know of a few possible suppliers.
My September tutorial took a look at the affinity laws and showed why each is able to predict changes in flow, head, and power when there is a change in pump speed or impeller diameter.
Want full visibility of pump performance to facilitate operation as close to BEP as possible within your production constraints – from your cellphone? Then this is the way to go.
